A full-day interactive training in Arusha, led by Tanzanian women, where we explore what responsible volunteering really looks like in practice.
We believe that acting responsibly starts with cultural awareness. However, connecting with a new culture and finding your place as a volunteer is not easy. It requires an active mindset, guidance, and reflection while you are experiencing it.
It also means questioning your own assumptions and understanding how your presence affects others.
Our volunteer training supports international volunteers and interns in understanding these dynamics, avoiding common mistakes, and building genuine partnerships.

Four Interactive workshops specifically designed for volunteering life in Arusha. The training day is packed with practical guidelines for volunteering in Tanzania, we use our detailed Oazi framefork, group exercises and Q&A sessions.

You’re looking for a feel-good, tourist-style volunteering experience. Our approach requires deep self-reflection, humility, and an awareness of your actions.
You want to jump in and ‘help’ immediately without observing first. We expect volunteers to listen and take the time to understand the local community, culture, and existing organizational structures before acting.
You don’t want to question your own assumptions or privileges. We don’t shy away from uncomfortable truths. We talk openly and honestly about power dynamics, decolonization, and our ethical responsibilities.
You expect a simple checklist on how to volunteer responsible. True cultural awareness isn't a box you can check off. It's an ongoing process of self-reflection and a learning mindset.
